Abstract: This report profiles State and local government initiatives to improve the regulatory climate for affordable housing. The case studies come from all over the country representing the wide range of conditions and needs that must be met in order to address regulatory barriers. The report provides background on each initiative, highlighting the programs importance and accomplishments. It shows State and local governments the variety of legislative, judicial, administrative, and policy tools available to remove regulatory barriers and facilitate the creation of affordable housing.
