| Abstract: |
This report offers a case study of the rehabilitation of a 200-year-old single-family home in rural New Jersey to provide a side-by-side comparison of traditional rehabilitation provisions with the National Applicable Recommended Rehabilitation Provisions (NARRP) and the code (the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code-Rehabilitation Subcode) from which the provisions were developed. This examination highlighted the differences between the NARRP and earlier rehabilitation provisions; provided a real-life application of the NARRP in a residential rehabilitation project, and tested the cost-effectiveness of the NARRP with respect to the specific differences between the codes. |
