HUD USER is your gateway to current written research and analytic
tools produced by and for HUD's Office of Policy Development
& Research (PD&R). You can use this online resource
to access research reports about housing & community and
economic development, datasets that can be used for original
research, HUD income limits and fair market rents, and much
more!
Now celebrating our 25th year as a housing research information
service and clearinghouse, HUD USER offers relevant, practical
information on a wide range of topics, such as new building
technologies, emerging trends in urban planning and demographics,
alleviating housing discrimination and homelessness, and strategies
for making housing more affordable, durable, accessible –
and more readily available – to the people who need
it most.
The vast majority of publications available on this site
can be downloaded free of charge, or ordered in printed form
for a nominal cost by calling 1-800-245-2691. To find the
ones that are right for you, you may search by subject, by
title, or by key word(s). Our 800# puts you in touch with
trained Help Desk representatives (also available by emailing
helpdesk@HUDUSER.org), who can also help you find what you
need. It's our sincere hope that our efforts to build
a sound virtual community will prove useful to you in your
efforts to build and grow the real ones in the cities and
towns where you live and work.
To that end, you may wish to consider bookmarking HUDUSER.org
as a ready reference. If you'd like to be kept informed
of new publication releases and other housing-related news,
you may also want to sign up for one or both of our free eList
subscriptions: HUDUSER News and the Regulatory Barriers Clearinghouse
– RBC – eList (for more on RBC, click the link
on the left-side navigation bar). We're also planning
to launch a new print-based newsletter this Fall; subscription
information for our free electronic & print-based newsletters
can be found here.
Thank you for your interest; we look forward to keeping you
informed, and to welcoming you to our online communities.
