The Complexity of Segregation: Why it Continues 30 Years After the Enactment of the Fair Housing Act
AbstractThis year marks the 30th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act of 1968, a law of critical importance to eliminating segregation in housing. To better explain the progress that has been made with respect to the issue of segregation, it is useful to place the Fair Housing Act in the context of other 1968 events including the release of the Kerner Commission report on race relations in the United States and Stanley Kubrick's science fiction movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey. The Complexity of Segregation: Why it Continues 30 Years After the Enactment of the Fair Housing Act (*.pdf)
