1998 Income Limits Now Available
For each metropolitan area and nonmetropolitan county in the United States, HUD has released the following information:
- 1998 Income Limits for "Low-Income" and "Very Low-Income" Families Under the Housing Act of 1937, used to determine eligibility for many Federal housing programs. Income limits for the Nation are available on hard copy ($20) or diskette ($10).
- Estimated Median Family Incomes for Fiscal Year 1998, which provides a decile distribution of area incomes ($20 on hard copy only).
- Individual State data for low- and very low-income limits, as well as the decile distribution. Available on hard copy ($5 each) or free through the HUD USER faxback service at 1-800-245-2691 (low- and very low-income only).
- A supplement ($10) which identifies the counties that compromise each metropolitan statistical area and primary metropolitan statistical area and lists nonmetropolitan counties. This supplement is free with hard copy orders for national data.
