Residential Fixed Investment and Gross Domestic Product*

Residential Fixed Investment (RFI) for the fourth quarter of 1999 was at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $415.0 billion, 1 percent above the value from the third quarter of 1999 and 7 percent above the fourth quarter of 1998. As a percentage of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), RFI was 4.4 percent, unchanged from the previous quarter but 0.1 percentage point above a year ago. In the year 1999, RFI was $410.9 billion, 4.4 percent of GDP.
