Announcing Grants to Encourage Research and Scholarship

Announcing Grants to Encourage Research and ScholarshipHUD's Office of University Partnerships is announcing the availability of funds through the Doctoral Dissertation Research Grant program, which seeks to encourage and expand upon college- and university-based research that supports federal problem solving and policymaking. This program enables doctoral candidates enrolled at institutions of higher education to improve the quality of and complete their dissertations on housing and urban development issues relevant to HUD. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, strengthening the nation’s housing market, affordable rental housing, housing as a platform for improving quality of life, and building inclusive and sustainable communities free from discrimination. In FY 2011, approximately $400,000 is available in grants of up to $25,000 for a two-year performance period. Applications are due July 14, 2011.
