For the Formerly Homeless, Homey Touches
The New York Times (6/14) reports on Treger Strasberg and Ana Smith, who help to furnish and decorate the homes of the formerly homeless in the Detroit area. Mrs. Smith is quoted as saying that "we learned how little aftercare there really is for people once they leave the shelters. They are basically on their own." The women collect donated furniture, which they use to help people when they finally have homes of their own.
