| Small Area FMRs |
Due to the increasing demand for more localized rents for a variety of purposes, HUD has updated the FY2012 Small Area FMR file to remove the limits on rent decreases (Small Area FMRs were floored at 80% of the metropolitan FMR in the previous release). The limits on rent decreases were included as a transition mechanism for PHAs and Housing Choice Voucher tenants who would use Small Area FMRs in the voluntary demonstration of the use of Small Area FMRs. PHAs interested in obtaining the Small Area FMRs with the rent decrease limits should contact HUD’s Economic and Market Analysis Division at EMAD-hq@hud.gov.
