HUD Provides Web-Based Training
on Incentive Criteria for Reducing Regulatory Barriers
HUD recently broadcast an information session designed to help shed light
on the Department’s incentive criteria for reducing the regulatory
barriers to affordable housing. Barbara Dorf, Director, Office of Department
Grants Management and Oversight; David Engle, Director, Affordable Housing
Research and Technology Division; and Will Zachmann, Director of the Regulatory
Barriers Clearinghouse, described the questions applicants could answer
in the hope of securing additional points in the NOFA funding allocation
process. The panelists explained that responding to the questions is optional,
and that there are actually two sets of questions from which to choose:
one set for those applying from a local jurisdiction and another for state
agencies or others applying for projects in areas not covered by local
regulations.
