| Description |
This paper evaluates a variety of tools and strategies being utilized to create mixed-income and affordable housing near public transit. The paper encourages public and private entities to improve upon the success of existing transit-oriented developments (TODs) and also calls on cities to develop land use plans that promote TODs. Additionally, the paper advises cities to implement flexible design guidelines that will shorten the development process to ultimately allow more affordability. |
