Description	The report provides an overview of housing affordability in Hillsborough County, Florida and lists recommendations developed by the county's affordable housing task force to create and maintain the affordable housing supply. Recommendations provided in the report include encouraging mixed-use developments, establishing special zones for affordable housing, and reviewing and amending existing land use and building codes to streamline approval processes, allow alternative construction techniques, and permit accessory dwelling units. Recommendations also include encouraging higher density multifamily housing development, and providing developer incentives, such as density bonuses, setback reductions, parking reductions, and impact fee waivers. In addition, the report also identifies best practices in affordable housing development from around the nation.
