| Description |
This ordinance allows property tax exemptions for multifamily units in designated areas within the city of Bremerton, Washington. According to the ordinance, the purpose of the exemption is to stimulate new construction and rehabilitation of multifamily housing, reduce urban sprawl, and increase developmental densities. The ordinance will provide a 10 year property tax exemption for new, converted, or rehabilitated multifamily housing with at least 10 dwelling units. To be eligible for the property tax exemption, a minimum of 50 percent of space in the multifamily projects must be set aside for permanent residential occupancy and the project must not displace existing residential tenants.
